Vero Volley Milano

Italian volleyball that knows how to network!

With great enthusiasm we participated in the Vero Volleyball Network Data 2023 at the Arena di Monza, a day of meeting between the 60 clubs that belong to the network to share guidelines and introduce new sponsors, including WEPERE! From this season, the athletes of the various clubs will be supported by our equipment in their recovery phase, according to the philosophy of constant updating and development, care for athletes and attention to the training of trainers, coaches and all the technical staff of the Consortium.

The president explains:

“The network represents a sport focused on excellence, with great potential for the future, a project of sports culture. The way we play volleyball is based on quality, and both large and small clubs are enthusiastic about this idea of an inclusive sport.”

Volley Milano was founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting the sport of volleyball in the city of Milan, focusing on the youth sector.

In 2008, the Vero Volley consortium was founded, initially consisting of eight teams active between Milan and Brianza. The Consortium becomes a reference point for Italian sports, a sports culture project with a clear and distinctive identity. In 2012, the Consortium moved its headquarters to the Arena di Monza, a state-of-the-art facility that can hold up to 4,000 spectators and serves as a stage for sporting events and exhibitions, as well as trade fairs, conventions and shows.

The men’s team debuted in the highest national division in the 2000-01 season, reaching the final of the Scudetto, which they lost to Volley Treviso, and qualifying directly for the first European competition, the CEV Cup, where they won the final for third place.

In the 2013-14 season they reached the final of the Italian Cup and were promoted to the Superleague thanks to winning the promotion playoffs. In the 2020-21 season, Vero Volleyball qualified for the Italian Supercup for the first time and won its first trophy the following season.

The 2022-23 men’s Superleague final in Perugia ended with a 3-2 victory and qualification for the CEV Challenge Cup, confirming the team’s presence in the main continental competitions and demonstrating the determination and character of the athletes despite the difficulties, especially injuries, that occurred during the season.

In the last national series, the women’s team was in the hunt for the Scudetto until the last game, the home match against Prosecco DOC Conegliano: a fabulous season that ended with a beautiful and great game, paving the way for the next CEV Champions League and the Italian Super Cup.

This season one of the strongest volleyball players returns to the national team: Paola Egonu, with whom Verro Volley aims to become one of the best teams in Europe. Moreover, the women’s team plans to move permanently to Milan in order to bring the Scudetto to Milan for the first time.

The campaign “For the love of the game”, presented in Milan in May 2023, reinforces the philosophy of the consortium Vero Volleyball: the idea of playing volleyball with passion, for the love of the game that connects the champions with the youngest, in order to “consider the championship not as a time when the older players put on a show chasing titles, but as a reflection of an image that sees on the other side a little boy or girl who enters a sports hall for the first time, gets excited about volleyball and grows up”.

With two top teams in the highest national volleyball leagues, the men’s SuperLega and the women’s Serie A1, playing an important role also at European level – for the third consecutive year Vero Volleyball participates in the CEV Champions League with the women, while the men play in the CEV Challenge CUP – Vero Volleyball confirms itself as a reality of great importance in the Italian and international scene.
